Hello Everyone!!!!
How are You!? Have You eaten rice yet? I talked to a man in our ward on Tuesday,... and he said that he is losing so much energy because he is on a new diet that only allows him to eat rice twice a day... SO... count Your blessings and eat rice for every meal everyone!!!
This week was pretty good... I really have learned so much this week. It has been a lot of work to get this area going and a lot of the work that we were doing was not so much finding on the streets (even though there has been quite a lot of that)... this week we have been able to see most of the people that we teach and meet a few new people,... we have been VERY busy! Between finding, teaching, meetings, helping other missionaries, and any other really cool random thing that comes up... I am SO tired... One of those really awesome things that just come up happened to Elder Ford and I today... I got out of a new Temple recommend interview with president Chan, and was walking back to the train station when the Assistants called me and asked what we had planned today for P-Day... Just happened to be that we had nothing important but the normal stuff like email and shopping and We were actually planning on spending the time to write letters Home!!! Then Elder Dastrup told me that there was a family here that had been on vacation in china with all of here kids for a few weeks to see what the chances were of moving there and if Her kids like it... On the trip, 4 of her 9 kids (4 adopted from in China) got sick... and also her aunt(?) had been in a accident on a bike and quite seriously Hurt her shoulder... So with a couple of the kids getting VERY sick they made the decision to come down to Hong Kong and go to the Hospital. With some of her children being in a serious condition she called the mission home asking for some elders to come to the Hospital to give her daughter a blessing... and then to their Hotel to go and give a blessing the her other kids and give her aunt a blessing. The A.P's were busy so they called us to see if we had time to go... we did... so we went! It was Incredible... of all the experiences on my mission, i will remember this forever. I am so thankful to be a missionary. I am thankful for the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the Blessings that it brings to our lives. I love my mission so much, it has given me a greater opportunity than ever before to learn for myself how real, and how precious the truths of the Gospel are, and just only begin to understand how great the influence of Every Principle of the Gospel in our lives. This is a opportunity that I would not have had, had I not served a mission. I cannot explain how important this is to me. How much it has helped me and changed me. I Love my mission. I love to serve other people, and I love to watch the testimonies of the people around me grow. It is incredible. I am Grateful for today, and for how it helped me to even more understand the importance and truthfulness of the work. I know that Christ lives, and that He loves, and leads each one of us in striving to become better people. He has called a prophet to teach and inspire us, and to help us understand our potential as children of a Father in Heaven who loves us, and really cares about us. He wants us to be happy, and He has a plan and purpose for each of His children. Perhaps the reason I love my mission so much... is that I know i am living that plan that He has prepared for me. Today we were able to help a few people to feel happy and comfort in their current situation... That experience was a great blessing to them as well as to My companion and I. I love it! Ive never been so happy!
The people we are teaching are doing great. We are working with Sam to try to find a date in March when he would feel comfortable to be Baptized. Ding popo ( grandma) really loves church and is progressing slowly but surely. Joe, and Andy are doing well but they are having trouble coming to church because of work problems, But they are great and We are praying for them constantly. We met a new kid named A-Him (heem) That the Yip Family introduced us to he is 11 Years old but his parents are encouraging him to try out church and he really likes it... he enjoy's being with the Yip family and attending Church activities!... things are looking good! We are getting pretty busy teaching and I love it! Yesterday Brother Ho brought a friend to the church who was visiting from mainland... he had came to the church once before and when he came... I half think that he was expecting that he could be baptized... He Loves the Church and he kept telling us that he had studied so much in his life at all sorts of universities but when he came to church Once before... he felt something... and as he sang the Hymns, he felt like " there was more knowledge to be found here than anywhere i have ever been before" " i felt like this is important to me,... i felt important to God"... Yeah... he is Pretty amazing... He speaks Mandarin more, so we are going to turn him over to the elders that we live with... I could see him being a Very powerful member of the church here in Hong Kong... Wow! Miracles are happening Everywhere!!! Its amazing!!!
Thank All of You for Your constant support, love, and Prayers! Thank You. I love You and Pray for You always.
Love,
Elder Mckay Wright
