Time is flying so fast... I missed the luckiest day of my life - ha-ha

Hello Everyone!!!



Well time is just Flying SO so fast... so fast in fact, that actually for the last 3 years I have been planning on 11-11-11 @11:11:11 to be the luckiest time of my entire life... and just last night at a missionary "Sports night" activity i realized... ah! its the 16!?!?!? It was the luckiest moment of my life about 5 days ago and i completely missed it!!!! Ha-ha... yeah... so anyway that fell through!



So Anyway! How are you!? How is life where You are? How is the weather? Just a fun little fact... it’s probably super cold wherever You are right now... but... it’s really hot over in good old' Hong Kong still... and just Yesterday at our multi zone conference they announced that it is that time of year again where we need to wear our suits Everyday!!! AAH! So nice and sticky :) in my one and only surviving suit! ha-ha... probably not for too long! It’s pretty fun actually. ... Anyway! This week was such a great week! And So many miracles! This last Friday we especially saw something amazing happen, We were just teaching our weekly English class like always, and just after the class finishes we get a call from a guy . He was met on the street in October and told us that he would call us when he was finished testing on November 11. Then this last Friday just happened to be November 11... And he really did call! :) ... Honestly... I wasn’t expecting that to happen... at all. MIRACLE!!! Then he said he was coming to the church right then and would be there in just a few minutes! Wow!

When he got there we all sat down and had a very good discussion. He is such a humble man. He told us how he didn’t know if there was a God, but said "if there is a God, I know that i need his help, especially now" We talked with him and invited him to come to church on Sunday, Then, He came! and after sacrament meeting he said he felt different... and special ( not exactly a special feeling, although i that was a part of it too, but as in he felt like he was a "Special Person") ... He wanted to stay! so he did! Now we are looking forward to seeing him again tomorrow! He asked so many questions to us, like "Why?" "Why are you a member of this Church?" "Why did you choose to be a missionary?" So many questions that I Love to answer! He is excited to keep learning more! Meanwhile, Elder Parkin and I are just amazed at the miracle we are witnessing right in front of our eyes!

On Sunday we were invited to go to a Members House. . We went prepared with a message for their wonderful family, and when we got there... another person walked up to the door at the same time... it was a friend  of the familyand her Son that the family invited over to eat and to hear a from the Missionaries! Needless to say we were smiling Ear to Ear the whole night because that is the first referral from Tsim Sha Tsui ward in... A really really long time! We shared about families and about Family scripture reading, then we introduced the Book of Mormon!

The Spirit was so strong in that small home, as the  mother and Father both testified about how much the Gospel had blessed and changed their family since they joined the church about 5 Years ago. Everything was so perfect, and now their Friend, wants to come to church and wants to find out for herself how the church can bless her life! I am So excited! These people are So amazing!


Then! Just Yesterday we met with K for the second time... He is SO cool. he is 24 Years old. He is the one that his friend in Hawaii referred to the missionaries and he accepted! Really great guy. He has told us several times that he knows the Book of Mormon is true and that he likes the teachings of the Church. He just feels like he is having a hard time changing. But he is willing to change, and he really does want to. I think deep down... He wants to be like his Friend. He is just a little afraid of what it will take. But he really is the coolest person ever. He studied in New York for a few years and speaks awesome English, He wants to go back too, so when last night, He took us to dinner! And told us that “Now when i go to America You have to take me to dinner!" i just replied " of course la!!!" ha-ha. Really awesome Person.



The mission had a Zone Conference this week. It was really good and focused on 8 "foundation principles" of teaching in preach my gospel. Elder Parkin and I were called up to give a demonstration on inviting someone to go to church and teaching them about "Revelation through Church attendance". it was Really fun....... I was a bit nervous to demonstrate teaching in front of so many missionaries though... ha-ha. Anyway it was really Great and really made me want to improve... not just as a missionary, but as a person! I think I’m finally starting to understand how to apply the principles I’ve learned in my mission to more than just my missionary work, but actually to my life as a whole. Finally! ha-ha. Not that its hard... I’m just a little slow figuring some things out ...

I LOVE MY MISSION! It is the greatest thing that has ever happened to me!... that is a serious statement. And some pretty awesome things have happened to me. ha-ha. ANYWAY!

Sports, Sunburns, Meeting old Pals from the MTC, and Loving the Work!

Hello Everyone!


How are You!? Is it cold over there Yet!? Today for the P-Day activity we got 4 zones together to play a bunch of sports!!! We had about 76 Missionaries there, and it was HOT!!!! We are all SO sunburned!!! haha... calling that unplanned would be an understatement! Anyway after steeming like dumplings for a few hours now I am here to write my Email!!! hahaha. It was pretty fun.

So! this week was, interesting, the work here in Tsim Sha Tsui is pretty slow to say the least, and I'm trying to push all the negative comments it recieves out of my head because I really love it here and I know it can be a great area if people will give it the chance. The people here are good!... busy... but good! and the Ward is Great! They are so nice to us!!! :)

This Week I went on an exchange with a familiar friend! Elder Jolley! from my MTC group! It was a lot of fun! We are in the same district now along with Elder Dastrup! All 3 of us! We had a good time on the exchange and I really learned a lot from him. Its good to be around missionaries like them. I really look up to them so much, they are very great missionaries.

On Sunday Elder Parkin and I were privileged (or sentenced) to be the teachers for the last class in Church! It just happened to be "Combined" and we ended up teaching the entire ward! Just like sacrament meeting!... it was great.. and a nice time to show off how lame my chinese abilities are! hahaha kidding.. We shared about Chapter 9 in Preach My Gospel and really encouraged and challenged the members to get into missionary work and FEEL the happiness that comes from it. It was difficult to express to them how happy I am to be a part of this work. How many blessings I've recieved, and the many more blessings that I realized I have, because of doing missionary work.

Although, that isn't an easy thing to do in english either. I just wish I could put into words what a miracle missionary work is. I've seen members lives change after helping the missionaries and seeing changes in their friends, and I know (not that I fully comprehend) what a blessing being a missionary has been in my life and in the Life of my family.

I wouldn't trade being a missionary for anything. THAT is a serious statement.

I Love the Lord. I Love His Work. I Love His Gospel.

I'm thankful for my mission, and for all the people I have met in it, and for all the people I will continue to meet .

Thank You for Your support and Love. I remember each of you in my prayers, everyday.

Moves, Tears, and New Responsibilities

Hello everyone!!!


SUPRISE!!!! 2 in one week!!!! but why!? Actually, I was transfered again! So now I am back in Chinese work in the Kowloon zone! I'm going to be serving in Tsim Sha Tsui! Right in the heart of Kowloon and Hong Kong! Pretty Epic! I have a new companion and I am with him already, His name is Elder Parkin! he is Brand new and just got done with his trainer. He is a soccer player too! From Skyline!... I feel like were already best friends! He is a great kid and a great missionary! He is ready to work too! im very excited! I hope I can take the heat!

My emotions right now are all over the place. I have left international, and it was SO sad. I love international! Im sure i will miss it very much, especially that we have 2 people that Elder Palfreyman and I taught that are being baptised Tommorow! then one on next Sunday! All the sisters are SO great. It is so funny and amazing to me how they all look up to us, They are all like our big sisters... possibly even our moms,... Im not gonna lie, It was pretty sad to leave and I actually had my little moment to cry about it. All the people that i taught and Baptised called and talked with me, and nearly everyone of them Cried. It was all fine and good until every once in a while iIjust randomly felt like i couldn't leave the people that I had taught... and it brought tears to my eyes. But they turned to tears of Joy when I talked to them about what they had learned and they thanked me for what I did and would share their testimony with me.  I challenged everyone I talked to  and challenged them to do different things, like promise that they would stay strong and prepare themselves to go to the temple, get a calling, and be a powerful missionary! They are doing SO great. It is quite sad to leave and I will miss it so much. It was an experience that changed my life forever, and I will never forget it! I am so happy to have had the opportunity to serve in international, and I hope i can go back to help any chance I get!

Now in my new area, things are a little different... actually quite alot different! On tuesday night President Chan called me to explain to me the situation to me and then make his expectations very clear. He told me that I would go to the TST area, and that I would serve with Elder Parkin. He released me as a district leader and he thanked me for my service, but explained to me that my new responsibility is to get this area going. Years ago TST was a booming area. it has been on a decline and for the last few years has seen Very little success, If any at all. In the last few transfers there has been weeks were there were 0 disscussions taught the entire week!... quite a change from what I have been used to recently. From my understanding, this area is a rock bottom, has been for a while, and hasn't changed. it is also one of the largest areas in all of Hong Kong! President Chan told me to focus all my efforts on starting the area up again. He also expressed how he expects a lot out of me and that he has a distinct feeling that Elder Parkin and I were the ones to do it. Together. I have a feeling i'm about to be humbled in a BIG way. Im actually quite scared. But, luckily! Elder Parkin is amazing! HA! I already know that unity and Obedience will not be a problem. I'm so excited!

A week of miracles...

Hello Everyone!!!

How are You?! Everything here is going well!... Just the ordinary Crazy awesome Miracles!!!! We had 2 people this week come to church who thought they were going to be Baptised today... ("L" and "E") this is about how the conversation went with "E".. "hey! You look so sad whats wrong?"

 "I thought i would be baptised today butIi was late for church... I know I'm not ready" (Elder Palfreyman and I look so confused at each other) "Sister "E" its okay! You were just a little late, and Your goal for baptism isnt until the 30th anyway" ..." I went home after last week and prayed to know if being baptised here was the right decision and0 I recieved and answer thatI I know for sure in my heart it is right... so i decided thatIi would just be baptised today".... (!?!?!?!?!?!?!?... uhhh... we have no idea what to say)

 "ok... well... lets go into a classroom right now and we will work everything out to where You will be baptised on the 30th of this month. ok?" ... " ?.... So long?...." (hahah ...Ii guess I forgot to mention that all we had taught her to this point is the Restoration, Word of wisdom, Law of Chastity, and a intro to the Plan of Salvation. haha. ) "ok. lets go were going to get everything worked out right now."

haha.... that just about sums up our whole week! it is SO amazing to see some of the people that we teach sincerely pray, recieve a sure answer, and from that point on, There is NOTHING to them that will get in their way of being baptised and following the Prophet. We are also teaching someone right now named Joy, she has been researching different churches for most of her life because every member of her family is in a different church, for the last 3 or 4 years she has been attending the Jehovahs Witness church, and then for the past month or so commited herself to trying this church when we found her on the street. after meeting with her for about 3 weeks we watched the Joseph Smith: Prophet of the Restoration video with her. She was crying and sharing her testimony with us that she had prayed that week and recieved an answer that Joseph Smith is a true Prophet and that Thomas S. Monson is a living Prophet of God now here on the earth, she was interviewed that day and will be baptised this week!!!  So amazing. then she came out to help us find more people to invite to church!!! it was great!

Well... that about all I know to talk about... basically... this place is miracle central right now.  Such an amazing blessing for them and for us! I mean, this week, I have never thought about prayer like I did this last week hearing the experiences of the people we are teaching and it even made me question myself! Am I praying sincerely enough to recieve answers like they have? I really have never met more Humble people in my whole life. They are my example, and they teach me so much.
I LOVE being a missionary!!!!!!  You should be jealous! haha joke.

Every Sincere Prayer is Answered

Hello Everyone!!!




How are you today!? What’s the new news? Its finally starting to cool down over here and it feels pretty nice now... I think I will have to stop taking cold showers soon... ha-ha... it’s been about 7 months since I’ve had a warm shower... ha-ha... Anyway!!!!

This week has been another miracle; It was actually a little bit slow. But! It was so good because we got to hear every Sunday session talk about 3 times!!! It was Great! Because there is sacrament everyday in the Branch I am serving in... There was also conference everyday! It was pretty special I really loved Conference. Especially President Uchtdorf's talk on Saturday morning, President Eyrings talk Sunday morning and of Course Presidents Monson's talk on Sunday Morning. I think this year I was really hit by a talk that scared me... so I don’t really want to talk about it. ha-ha. And Also I LOVED Elder Holland’s talk in Priesthood session,... unfortunately that was the only talk that I could watch of it... so we will need to watch the re-broadcasting of it... probably on President Brown's (our branch presidents) computer.

“J” was baptized this Saturday! It was such a special day. She had a Great testimony, that actually she was so nervous about getting up that she wrote it all down so she could just read it, she was crying as she read mostly and it was a little hard to understand at those parts... BUT we got the papers and copied them and I’m going to send it to my Parents! So... maybe they can post it on my blog or something. It is SO amazing!!! I feel safe to say that nothing makes a missionary happier than when they hear someone that they were able to teach and share with share their own testimony of the Book of Mormon and of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I know that I have never been happier than those moments. I am SO thankful for this time that I have to be a missionary... i only have 1/4 left... and I’m going to make the most of every second. My mission has blessed me so much, it has changed me in every single way, I know that every goal and plan that i had before my mission has been changed. I feel so much more like i understand what i should do, i have more confidence in my future, it is amazing how my mission, (supposed to be a sacrifice) has actually ended up something that I would NOT trade ANYTHING for. I don’t feel like I sacrificed anything... I know I have... but it doesn’t feel that way one bit... I don’t know how to explain! syun la!!!!!! (Whatever la!) But I love this. I love being a missionary. Everything about it. I am so excited that this week, “A’, a sister that we have been teaching for quite a while, will be baptized. Last week she was not too sure... and we boldly invited her to "Pray unto the father with all the energy of heart" to receive an answer on what she should do about the trials she is facing in her life, and what path God wanted her to take... 1 DAY later she called crying that she knew what she needed to do,... and now she will be being baptized this coming Sunday. I know that Prayer is SO powerful. That Every Sincere prayer is answered.

I am so thankful for all the experiences and all the lessons I learn on my mission. I am so thankful for all of your prayers and support of me. Thank You. See you soon enough! :)

A Typhoon 8 -- and all is great!

Hello Everyone!!!!


How are You!?!? How is the weather!? Guess what! this week i experienced my first T8 (Typhoon 8) and we actually had to stay in our apartment All Day!!! it was so boring... I think just about our whole apartment started to go a bit crazy. When we were finally let out (about 5 pm ) I seriously couldn’t wait to leave! I’m pretty sure I did everything there was to do... twice... but I am super impatient with everything so I actually didn’t get a whole lot done :(... especially because our apartment was all losing our minds!!! Ha... it was pretty interesting...

ANYWAY! In other news! It has been yet Another Great and magical week in the life of a Hong Kong Missionary!!! So many members brought their friends to us this week to give them an opportunity to hear the Gospel. It is kind of scary... but super cool when you notice that the members are bringing you people to teach and trusting us to help them... It has been quite an experience! "J" was baptized on Saturday! It was SO cool! Her whole story is so special. I remember when we found her at World Wide, and we brought 4 people back to church with us that day! It was so awesome! And then out of the 4 of them, Jocelyn seemed to show about ZERO interest in anything we said, while the other three showed quite a lot of interest. As the weeks went by... actually only 2... It turns out that she has been the only one of the 4 of them who came back consistently to church. She has a really strong testimony! I remember last week as we were talking to her and preparing her for Baptism I asked if I could see her Book of Mormon... It looked, and Felt like it was more used than my own!!! She told us how the scripture message that we send every morning she had recorded from the very first day when she read and prayed and had a spiritual experience. She now marks the scriptures that we send, writes them down, and records her feelings. After the Baptism there is always a chance for the Sister who was baptized to share their testimony. "J" is so SO shy, she told me before that she was SO scared to get up, but after her Baptism she got up and shared her testimony for about 5 minutes!!!! I’ve never heard her say more than 5 words!!! ha-ha... Her testimony was so touching. Apparently the spiritual experience she had that first time was really powerful!!! She explained how she left the church and went home that day and didn’t really want to read the book... then that night when she Prayed, she felt like she had to pick up the book... so she did and she started reading. She prayed when she was done and she said that she knows that God answered her prayers right then, and that going to church was what she needed to do, no question about it. Her husband, who normally would be against her joining Any religion other than catholic told her that she can do whatever she felt was right. She recognized this as another answer to her Prayers that it was the right thing to do. Since then she has read her scriptures, and prayed every day. She has changed so much, and while there was a short time she didn’t know if she wanted to actually join our church... it was Very brief... because of her prayers being answered. On Saturday she was Baptized, and I have never seen a larger change in anyone my whole life. It has been such an Amazing experience. I am so happy for her.

Now, on a totally unrelated note. Later that night! there was a Firework show! it is the Biggest fireworkshow in Hong Kong other than New Year... It was AMAZING!!!! 12,000 pounds (6 tons) of Fireworks! All set of in a 30 period of time..... WOW!!!! We were right next to them too... it was so loud i could feel my insides shaking!!! I love the way Hong Kong celebrates!!! haha... Hong Kong is such an amazing city, it is SO special... everything about it! I try not to think that i ever have to leave this Beautiful place. Its my Home! i know it sounds strange but its true!

This week we are looking forward to J's Baptism on Saturday... SO funny! She had Saturday and Sunday holiday this week, and she came to church in Kwai fong with us on Sunday because she lives really close to there. It was testimony meeting here because Conference is not broadcasted until the end of this week for us... SO right after the branch president opens the time to the congregation to share their testimony,... “J” RUNS to the front and shares her testimony with the congregation about how she knows the Book of Mormon is true, she knows that Joseph Smith was called by God to be a Prophet, (did i mention there were several investigators in the room?) and to tie it all up, she shocks the presidency and most all of the members who didn’t know that Actually... She is not a member yet, but is so excited and anticipating her Baptism on Saturday!!!!!!! i think that blew everyone’s mind! I was so happy! Come to think of it... it would have been VERY hard to catch me at anytime this week unhappy! ha-ha... Everything is just SO good!

Today we went Bowling... pretty awesome... then even more awesome we walked around Hung Hom and TST and took JUMP PICS!!!! ha-ha... it was to fun.

I Am So Thankful For Member Missionaries!

Hello Everyone!!!


How was your week? Is it getting cool over there?... IT IS HERE!!!! ... ... so happy!

Well, this week was seriously great! G. was baptized on Saturday! She has been so excited all week and when Saturday finally came she could hardly contain it! After her baptism when she got up to share her testimony, she cried, and I’m pretty sure that by the end that everyone in the room was too. Maybe even me a little.

t was such a wonderful day, and defiantly the highlight of this week.

Every day with Elder Palfreyman is a great one. He is a great missionary, and we are working well together, I think that miracles follow him or something! We are teaching a lot of great people. This coming week Jocelyn will be baptized, it should be a very special day, she faces a lot of opposition and actually when she first came to the church, with 3 other friends, out of all of them it seemed like she would be the least interested, but she has had a lot of very strong spiritual experiences and has overcome so much opposition from family and so many friends, luckily her husband is okay with her being baptised, and her sisters want to know more, so she is sending a package home with a couple copies of the Book of Mormon in tag log and Ilocano. Her testimony is so strong, and I really have seen her change SO so much. I can see her inspiring so many people who will see this change in her, I know its inspired me.

It seems like the longer I am on my mission, not only does my desire to share with more people grow, but also my desire to be a great member missionary when i return. It is amazing to see the member missionaries here and all they do; they are so valuable, in fact, if it were not for great member missionaries, I highly doubt any of us missionaries would have much success at all. I am SO thankful for the member missionary work here. i feel completely confident in saying that great member missionaries are Way better than missionaries like us,... maybe that is just my opinion, but seriously! SO much help, and i can really see the blessings in the people’s lives that help! (took a 20 minute phone call with an investigator and completely lost where I am... awesome... ) SO.. yeah.

Anyway! Everything is going so great out here! I love missionary work! It is the greatest thing since sliced bread! Thank You everyone for all of Your support and Your constant prayers, they mean a lot to this missionary, more than You could know. You are always in my prayers.

What a Great Week-- I am Loving every minute!!

What a Great Week! This week really was so great!I I feel So happy! Elder Palfreyman is just about the Cooest Kid i know, and we are getting a lot done!!! I really think that we work well together, and he teaches me so much.



The last few days have been so inspiring, Elder Palfreyman and I have the opportunity to be teaching so many people who, without any doubt have been prepared to hear the Gospel,... in the coming 4 weeks we have at least 4 people who are preparing to be baptized, they are so amazing and such an example to me.


This coming week G. will be baptized, It has been so amazing being able to teach her, she is probably one of the nicest most sincere people i have ever met my entire life! It is even better because actually, G. was introduced to the church by her friend D.who is a member,... D. seems so shy, doesnt say too much, but she is So nice and has a really strong testimony, i think she is a branch missionary as well. She brought Grace to church, and now Grace is being baptized and has a really strong testimony herself! I think it has helped Daisy alot to have this experience as well, now she wants to share with every one of her friends! She has brought 2 others! and she wants to fellowship in any lesson that she can! it is so Cool! There are just so many little things that i could never explain fully.


Everything that happens here is SO amazing!!! Elder Palreyman is really enjoying it also, this Wednesday he talked to a Filipina at worldwide that wanted to come back to the church, and she did! and when she got there! there is no doubt in our minds that,...it seems like she has been Waiting for this ... for a Long time! SO amazing, that made Elder Palfreyman ( and I) So happy, especially Elder Palfreyman, there are so many miracles here and they happen right in front of our eyes! It seems like almost every single day I see something that i think to myself "I will NEVER forget this,..." ... I'll be honest, I have been brought to tears multiple times serving here,... For example, When You find someone on the street, share with them, they feel the spirit, they are Baptized, and they share their testimony with You,... and then! You watch that person find someone on the street, share with them, that person feels the spirit, and You are watching someone that You helped to help others... luckily when that happened this week to me, I didn't completely burst out in tears, i thought that i might, luckily it all stayed in my eyes haha.... The person I am speaking about is R.... who is now the friend of almost every one of our investegators and talks with all of them regularly to share her testimony with them


I feel like I say this a lot,... but I have never been so happy. So full of Joy. To me, The Gospel of Jesus Christ is a miracle, it has blessed me directly, and at times like this, it blesses me through other people that it has blessed! I don't even know if anything I am saying remotely makes sense... but to me it does... and,... there really is nothing better, nothing could seem more perfect Loving every minute!

I'm beginning to learn what hard work means...

Hello Everyone!


How is Everyone? Happy and NOT melting i hope

This last week has been yet another Huge adventure! this week we didnt have a whole lot going on so we knew we had to make it happen. We worked SO hard, and with a shower of blessings we were able to find 11 new people to teach! in just one week! We were really SO blessed . We met alot of Really cool new people that have only been in Hong Kong for a short time, and facing their situations they are all incredibly humble. I heard one thing over and over again this week that i thought was SO special... nearly everyone that we talked to, at the end of the lesson would say something like "I think God has brought me here, because he loves me, and knows i need his help, and this is how he will help me""this is an answer to my prayers". The people that we were led to meet, or were led to meet us this week, have really been prepared to hear this message. and they are willing to Act on it. This week i have seen an amazing example of Faith in so many people. I feel confident in saying that in just this one week I have learned more about Humility and Faith than ever before, I can only hope to have the humility, faith, and trust that some of these people I met have one day.

I feel like im starting to learn what hard work really means, and I am SO so tired... it feels really good.

I am SO blessed to serve in this mission

Hello Everyone!!!

What a week! How was yours? Fast!? Hot? Really tough? Worth it? Same here!!!!!!  Other than being working like a horse... on steroids, in heat that made me feel like I was about to have a heat stroke about every single day. This week was really good! Actually I have a lot to talk about!!! I will start on Tuesday last week. We had Mission Tour (Kind of like a conference/missionary meeting deal)! Can I just express how lucky I feel to be a part of the China Hong Kong Mission? I don’t think words would ever get even close to describing. We had half the mission together and Presiding, and teaching, at the meeting was Elder Watson, and Elder Gong, members of the Quorum of the Seventy, along with Elder Wong, a member of the Area Seventy, and of Course our Mission President Chan. President Chan did a sharing about unity for the whole mission, and tied it in with goals. He told us to be unified like his piece of paper... then he took out an apple and gave it to a missionary and asked "... is it real?" like a magician... SO FUNNY! ... It was, and then he took it and forcefully put the piece of paper THROUGH the apple!!! ... Whoa. Yes we were shocked, and I’m sure no one will ever forget that sharing! I know I Wont! President Chan is so powerful, and one of the greatest examples in my life. Then, Later Elder Watson got up to share and says " in the spirit of revelation, I've  decided how I want to conduct this meeting... we will have some of You missionaries share a short 3 minute experience or testimony.." as he pulls out a bowl with pieces of paper with all our names on it...  so cool! Then He taught us about the Book of Mormon, and how to use it in teaching. SO amazing, this week in lessons I have really tried to use what he taught us and, it really helped a lot! I’m sure the whole mission is using the Book of Mormon more effectively and powerfully. I know what he taught made a difference to this missionary. We had a question and answer period that was really good too. It really seems like they can answer everything perfectly. I am SO blessed to serve in this mission, I can’t even begin to describe, I’m sure that now I really don’t comprehend it anyway, but I feel SO blessed, and SO grateful for all the experiences that I am having out here, especially ones like that. FUNNY STORY! The other day Elder Lee and I walk into Wan chai... to see Elder Watson... hiding behind a pillar... he motioned to be quiet by putting his finger to his mouth... I was curious... but somehow acted like I was ignoring the fact that a seventy was hiding behind a pole, to my later discovery that his wife was actually walking out and he wanted to give her a little scare... HAHAHA! So. Awesome!

Wednesday we went out and worked hard all day long... no success. SO we realized what we were lacking, and Thursday we went out and worked our hardest... AND prayed our hardest. Having set a goal in my mind, and personal prayer, that I was going to do whatever it takes to talk to someone who would be touched by our message of a Modern Day Prophet and the Book of Mormon... I really "Searched"... that day to me seriously seemed like it was beyond finding. It took a little while, but then I saw someone that looked like they were waiting for someone to talk to them, she was pretty far away. I walked straight over there and I did my best to try to contact her, with no result, but she was still there. I had the strongest feeling in my Heart that I had to talk to her and that she needed to hear this message, I tried again... FAIL!... I didn’t know what to do and that feeling wouldn’t go away... so I quickly slipped around a little corner and said a Prayer... after I said my prayer and was determined this time that she would listen (because that feeling was still there) I had another strong feeling to find a member... right as I turned around the corner I saw a Member walk up who said "Sorry I’m late I’m here to help!"... Besides being blown away by how perfect that timing was... we took her over to the other Filipina sister (Jocelyn) and introduced her to the member. After just a few minutes of chatting (in Tagalog) she said she would come to the church!  So we showed her around... and then took her to a classroom to share the Restoration. She seemed okay the whole lesson, then we taught Joseph Smith and she seemed pretty confused... we tried to stop and ask questions... then after a minute decided to share about the Book of Mormon and Invite her to read it... When she saw the Book of Mormon and we explained what it is... she told us she wanted the book (kind of teary eyed) and then she asked if she had to buy it...  We gave it to her and she hugged it and wouldn’t let it go for the rest of the time that day at church. Now! We have been in contact with her every day and she is so excited to come back! 

On Friday and Saturday I went on an Exchange into Chinese work and had a lot of fun working with Elder Maddux that is just a move or two Younger than me. He is a Great missionary and I’ve learned a lot from him too! Sunday we taught Letty again, Her son is on a Mission in Philippines and she wrote him this week telling him that she will be Baptized on the 21st! Yay! So, we had to speed things up a bit because we weren’t quite expecting it... but she knew it all from some personal study and is ready for Baptism this coming Sunday! THAT was Fast!!!

This week, on Sunday, I met a Man named Micker, he is from West Africa (in Libya), I had been contacting him all week on the phone, because Elder Dodd in Yuen Long saw him come to the church up there... but Yuen Long is only Chinese, So he sent him to us... I don’t have much time so I will have to write His touching story (Seriously... I couldn’t hold my tears when I was talking to this guy...) next week. He is SO awesome and doing all he can to follow Jesus Christ and he knows that this is the Place that he needs to do it. He had some pretty incredible things happen to him. I want to help him in any way I can.

We were working out tails off and weren’t seeing any success... until!!!

Hello Everyone!!!


How are you? How was your week? How is the Weather? I hope You aren’t all melting ( even though I’m sure you are) like I am here... It is SO stinking hot!!!... agh... ha-ha its pretty funny, it’s so hot outside that after a minute or two I’m already sweating profusely... then I get in the church or some other well air conditioned building, and in a minute or two... I’m shivering!!! Because I’m soaking wet!... yes,... that is pretty gross, and I’m sorry I went into so much detail... On to this week’s news!!!

So this was the first full week of Elder Lee and I being together, it was pretty good! :) He is a good missionary and a really hard worker. We have a lot of fun too. The whole week we were working out tails off and weren’t seeing any success... until!!! Saturday! We realized that we had our faith tested all week,... and on Saturday, started to see the Blessings Flow! We went out finding in the morning... and in about 45 minutes, we found 4 People that were all willing to come to church with us!!! When we got to the church and taught them... They are All SO prepared!!! They were all crying after the lesson and the Prayer... and then we watched the Joseph Smith video... and they were all in tears. Over the last day or two they have been texting us just about nonstop telling us how excited they are to come back to church!... Miracles are real! We were praying hard all week for that. It was a very humbling experience to me, and a great testimony builder.

That was Great... but actually the main thing I wanted to talk about today was about a Baptism that we had on Wednesday. Basically, I only knew her name was Elvie,... and that’s about all I knew about her... Until!!! I saw her! She looked SO familiar!!!... And she knew me!? I couldn’t remember where I had seen her before.
We went through with the Baptism and then during the meeting after when she was sharing her testimony, I found out where I knew her from!!! She was telling a story about how she was a member of another church, but never really agreed too much with them, and she had investigated many different churches. After searching and searching she had given up, and some other things had led her to not ever even want to go to church.

Then she moved to Hong Kong. She planned never to go to church. After about three months of being in Hong Kong, she had some things she had to take care of at Hong Kong immigration tower. She was walking on the bridge and was a little lost. She saw another Filipina and asked her where to go, the Filipina told her but said "Wait! I want you to meet my friend first" ... turns out... that Filipina was a member, and she walked Elvie over a few feet and said "Elder Wright! Meet my new friend Elvie!!!" and I talked to her, took her to church and taught her!!! I forgot because I actually had to hand her over to Elder Dodd and Elder Lee... Then! I moved here! And I saw her get Baptized!!! Awesome! :) She talked about how she was determined not to look into any other churches, but when she came in our Church and heard the message, she forgot all those feelings of doubt and confusion, She knew this was the truth. It makes me think of the scriptures where it talks about God's "Sheep"... and how he knows them, and they know "His voice"... It is such a testimony to me to see these things. To see the faithfulness of these people is something that is incredible to me, and anyone else who knows these sisters.

Serving in International is such a blessing! Serving a Mission is such a blessing! I love the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and I love to share it.

New Area, New Companion.... and trying to focus... Again

Hello Everyone!!!


Another Interesting week in the Fragrant Bay... ... Really interesting though!!! In all honesty this week was a little disappointing... but I trust that everything will turn out for the best . This week was transfers week, and against all odds... i actually moved areas!!! Now im serving in the Kwai Fong Branch!!! Still international, but different area. It is a pretty cool branch and I really like it, but it was a little disappointing, because this week I had 4 investigators get Baptized over the weekend (Hanna, Beth, May, Shai (extra sad I missed)... and I wasn’t there to see any of them... ... it was a pretty bummer deal... not to mention the 4 more or my old investigators that will be baptized in the coming 2 weeks... ... But it’s OK!!! I’ll get over it!!!... Eventually!... Now I’m left in an area that will need a lot of building for the next while, me and my New companion will have our work cut out for us. Speaking of my new Companion! His name is Elder Lee!!! He is from... (get this ) SPRINGVILLE!!! AND! He is in Levi's Ward!!! What are the chances of that!?!?! He is a really good guy and I’m already learning a lot from him.


I actually don’t know much more of what to say about this week... I’m just trying to Re-focus…. again. I’m actually not a really big fan of moving areas... but now I’ve had 9... When most people serve 4 or 5... So... I’m sure there is a lesson that needs to be learned in here somewhere... I’ll figure it out sooner or later... hopefully sooner rather than later...Ii realized not too long ago, I have less than a year... actually... quite significantly less... and that’s no good at all!!! I need to figure this out fast!!! Luckily I feel like a learn more every day.


Anyway... I’m very sorry I don’t have much to talk about this week... I don’t even know any of my own investigators yet!!! This week was a tough change, and honestly... there aren’t that many investigators to meet! ... But everything will be good, and I’ll be Praying for Miracles every minute... Hopefully I’ll have some things to talk about next week!

We have met so many people!

How are You?!? Is all well where you are? Keeping a smile I Hope!!!


This week was SO cool!!! We met so many people that are really prepared! The first that comes to my mind is Hanna. She is Indonesian. There were some missionaries (Elder Jolley) that were finding in a park, and when Hanna saw them she felt like she had to talk to them... She waited and watched them to see if they would come talk to her... after a little bit she went up to them, asked what church they were from and wanted to come to church! They got her number and gave it to us. We called her a week later on her Holiday (Wednesday) and she really came!!! From the moment we met her she was so excited to come to church and had a "really reassuring feeling that what (she) (is) doing is right"... Then we went in the Church! Just when I thought people didn’t come more prepared than I already felt she was, she walked into the church and stopped... "it feels so nice in here" as she looked around at the paintings. We went up to the 6th floor (Where all the Philipinas/Indonesians go for church)... take in mind this is at 10 in the morning,... and showed her around. She was so happy and even made friends with a few Philippines! Like they already knew each other! Then we brought her into the chapel... and she started to tear up... and said that it felt so special. She just wanted to stay in there... so! We just sat down in the chapel and talked and taught her about the Restoration. She told us "Elder Jolley gave me a Book of Mormon already, and I know it is true" ... she had been reading it that whole week!!! After we taught her and went to do some other things we came back to find her still in the Chapel. We almost had to drag her out into relief society class,... not really... but luckily the room is an attachment to the chapel. She stayed the whole day until 8 at night. and now we will see her again on Saturday (her next holiday)... SO Amazing!!!

Then the next day (Thursday) we saw Richelle. I met her at worldwide last week and she came back to church with us. She came again this week with 2 friends because she knows that "the Gospel of Jesus Christ can Bless them" ... So Cool! We taught them and then Richelle again. She has her Baptismal date set for August 25 next month (Her Birthday) . She is so ready already (according to her... and us!) We taught her all the commandments (that are in the baptismal interview questions) and she was totally good with all of them! Once again... SO AMAZING!

On Sunday (Yesterday) a member brought her Cousin... a Pilipino!!!! His name is Joewel! He is SO cool... he is a Microbiology teacher! And he has attended different churches all his life "searching for what is right". He felt really good in the church and assured us that he will come back next week!!! Woo Hoo!!!

This week was pretty great! and... the biggest news is yet to have been said...

APRIL was baptized!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had the privilege of helping her be baptized. It was a great day. She bore her testimony to us about repentance and her experience... I’m pretty sure everyone in that room had tears in their eyes... especially her... and including me. It was so nice, and we are SO happy for her! I will have to attach some pictures of it next week.

Anyway it was Great week here in Hong Kong! Especially where I am! It has been rainy all week to protect us from the heat! Such a blessing! I’m having the best time of my life! Everything is so great! Thank You all for your love, constant support, and Prayers. You are in my prayers as well.

Finding Genny...

Hello Everyone!!!!

How are Y’all? How was your week? According to my parents the weather has been quite nice! that’s awesome! ... Because here it has been Hot enough to melt my brains!... Every Day!!!!... Until today, where as of right now it is raining insanely hard! It’s is supposed to be like this all week! When I woke up this morning I thought it seemed a little dark and cloudy... (not that there is any way to tell when you live surrounded by 50 story buildings! ... and we only live on the 6th floor.) So I decided to put on my water proof shoes in case it started to rain, grabbed my umbrella and went out the door... I hadn’t been outside for 5 seconds when it started to rain, and im thinking "lucky me! I got it just right this morning!" ... until I had been out for about a minute and I thought the ocean was going to move,... and I learned that... it doesn’t matter if you are wearing water proof shoes, if your treading in water past your ankles... awesome,... and now I’m totally Soaked!!! More Awesome!!! ha-ha.

Anyway! This week was good! I spent every day at World Wide, and to my amazement, We brought at least one person back to church with us every day of the week!!! They were all really good! But sadly 3 of them have been terminated (fired) by their employer... ... and will be returning to Philippines soon. One of the days, Thursday, I had an experience I have been excited to share all week!!! So, that day, we went out to worldwide at 9 in the morning,... and we talked to people, taught people, and invited people to the church until 1:30 with no success... so we took a short lunch break and went back out at about 2... I was really discouraged with the lack of success because Elder Flynn and I had both been working really hard. So just before we went out onto worldwide ( short strip of sidewalk) I stopped at the corner and had a strong impression I needed to say a prayer... so I stood in that spot, folded my arms, and said a short prayer to ask for help. As I was praying, I thought of the name "Ginny"... and some other things. When I finished my prayer I went to work, to find Anyone, but in my heart, I was hoping and praying to find "Genny" ... because I felt like thinking that was more than just another thought... I went all the way to the other side of worldwide where I saw someone sitting... and had another Strong impression to talk to them... I walked up to her, said hello, and introduced myself. I talked to her for a minute and then asked for her name,... she told me "Genevieve"... needless to say my mind was racing and my heart was pounding, and I told her that I didn’t know why, but I knew that she needed to come to church with me... ( talk about random and a little scary for her... big(to them) white man saying something like that) ... then she responded "I know... when will we leave?" ... Well... we left right then to go to the church, we taught her and she stayed the whole day!...
I think that day I finally felt like God trusts me enough, that he will send his children to me or me to them. I finally felt like a instrument in the hands of God, and I have never felt so much like I have purpose in my entire life! God loves us. He hears our Prayers. He prepares his children to Learn at the time that is best for them. I love Him, and I Love his Son Jesus Christ who makes everything possible.

Hello Everyone!!!

How are You!? HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY!!!!!!!!!!  I t was kind of  sad, I woke up this morning and realized I can't get my hands on any fireworks... SO! me and the other three Americans sang The National Anthem and a couple other songs... and said  the pledge... haha... it was pretty fun!

 Anyway... hope 'yall burn some extra fireworks for me this year beause I can't do, or even watch any this year... . But its Okay!!! I'm in Hong Kong!!!

 This week was SO good!!!! We had 2 Baptisms... one of them I met when I came here, and it was only her(Jim) second time at church!!! She gained an Awsome testimony SO fast!!!! I had the priviledge to confirm both of them . I was thinking what helped these two sisters find their testimony so fast,... it is SO hard for SO many people... so after I talked to sister Jim. I tried not to ask directly, just to talk with her, and then she said. "Every text you send in the morning, I study, write down everything about it, copy it in a journal, everything. What time it was sent, the question, the verse, then my thoughts, then other scriptures I find related or supporting that scripture." ... We send a text out every morning with a thought and scripture. We never asked her to do all of that, I can't remember how she said it, but she told me that she decided she wanted a larger than average testimony, so she knew she had to do more than average to get it. ... I only have one thing to say... it worked!! . It's amazing how much the people I help teach, teach me. They have taught me more about Charity, Love, Faith, Diligence, and Service than any other meeting, or seminar that was focused on teaching me these things. It's pretty amazing how these people inspire me to be better, to do more, and really... give until I drop  and become who I am meant to be.  I feel like everything that happens here, when I focus on nothing but helping and serving others, I learn more about myself, and am inspired more to improve myself.  I feel a desire to be better, greater, and stronger than I  have ever felt this feeling before. For so many reasons. The People here are a big part of it. But, ALL of You would be surprised how much you teach and inspire me too. You also make me want to be better, to Become.  A mission is truly a special experience. One that has changed, and will continue to change everything I want to be, everything i want to do.Seemingly every goal I have ever set for my life has changed out here,... And I am truly happy.
I am thankful for my Savior that makes these things possible, and who pushes me to go, and never look back every minute of everyday. It helps to know how much support i have accross the world too. Thank You!... I love all of you!

So Many Miracles Everyday!

Hello Everyone!

Kamusta ka! How are you!? I hope all is well with all of you!... and I hope you still eat your rice!!! ;)

This week was SO crazy! And Amazing! I can’t even begin to tell all the Miracles that are happening! It seems as though every prayer is being answered faster than I can handle!!!

On Wednesday we went out to the Worldwide (the place that we contact every single day) and we were talking to people for hours, it seemed like not many people were listening, and earlier that morning I had a impression that I needed to buy a ticket in advance that day to give to someone to come back to the church. So I really felt like, someone needs me to find them. As the time passed I was getting more discouraged and thought maybe I had already missed that person I was supposed to find, what had I done wrong? So, I decided to say a prayer to ask for help or for some comfort of some kind... in the middle of my prayer I had a feeling that told me "Look!"... Without thinking I opened my eyes and saw a Philippina coming down the sidewalk a way down... I walked down and waved to her... she stopped... I talked to her for a minute, found out her name is Gina, then a member Daisy came over and started speaking with her in tag log for about 30 seconds then Daisy looked at me and said... "Okay, she wants to come to church" I took out the ticket I bought earlier and gave it to her, and we went to church.

When she got there she was asking from the minute we got inside... "When can I come here" and "can I come here anytime I have holiday?” That was at about 10 o clock that day. She stayed until 8 o'clock that night talking with people and sitting and reading the Book of Mormon we gave her. Then when she had to leave, the last thing she told us is" I can’t wait to come back". It was such a special experience to me. I still can’t believe it happened! I’m so grateful for all the Miracles that Father in Heaven is letting me see and take part in. That is only one! Out of this whole week!

Granted it is the one that stands out most in my mind... but... these things are happening everyday here! Not to mention around the world! Beth came back this week and when we asked if she had any questions about what she had read in the scriptures she asked "When can I be baptized, I know the Book of Mormon is true, and that Joseph Smith really is a Prophet"... she is preparing right now to be baptized on the 8th. Jim (Chim) is also going to be baptized on the 3rd! This week we met with someone we are teaching named April a few times, because she has extra holiday because she has to move out of her house. She is preparing to be baptized on the 3rd too! She really is SO awesome! Her family... (Long story... but mostly just her mom) was really against her decision to be baptized, but she knows and feels like it is what is best for her. So on Saturday we offered to help her move, and we went over there and helped her move that night. Her mom was really happy and changed from not liking us at all to... "Thank You for all your help, now I know the kind of people my daughter will be around"... then, because they still had A LOT of stuff we asked if we could come help again, because we knew they had to be completely moved out by Wednesday... they had a lot of heavy stuff, and they probably wouldn’t be able to get it done, or it would be Super Hard!... so she called us last night to ask for our help, of course we were more than happy, And! we called 6 other missionaries and some members!... We all went over there and moved ALL of it on a 30 minute walk to their new apartment (they were going to get a van, but couldn’t find one... so we just carried it there!!! ha-ha. ) When we were done, the Mother looked like she was going to cry, April was crying... and the Mother came up to me and told me she wants to attend Aprils Baptism on Sunday.

I’ve never been more Happy! I really can’t describe... Sharing a perfect message, giving all my time in service to others, and watching people smile because of it,... it would be an understatement to say I’m Happier than ever. I love every minute, I cant explain even a part of what I feel. I’m so Happy... .

Saying goodbye to Chai Wan

Hello Everyone!!!




KAMUSTA KA!!! (tagolog for How are you!?) How are you!? What is the News on the Home front?

This last little while has been a little crazy!!! I have moved from Chai Wan and am now serving in the Island 1 Branch. It is a branch for philipina domestic workers. They are so crazy!!! in a good way . They are so fun and they love us missionaries SO much. I have learned SO much just from my few days of being in this work. At first i was a little dissapointed because i dont get to speak much chinese anymore... but then i came. and i Love it!!!!!! AND i am even learning a little bit of Tagolog ( im not sure if that is how you spell it...) not a lot though... i still have to work hard to keep improving cantonese. ANYWAY! It was a good last week serving in Chai Wan. i had a feeling i would move, so did most of the ward... All my recent converts and friends in the ward found me to say goodbye and things. Franky even brought us dinner! ha. I will really miss Chai Wan. In a lot of ways it was the best time of my mission. SO! now im here in Island 1... i cant even begin to explain how miracles are happening everyday!!! its Too Amazing!!! our schedule is also a bit different. We wake up excercise, eat, and get ready, get a little bit of scripture study in, and get out the door at 9:00, then off to a place called WorldWide... it is the entrance to a big mall and Tons of Philipinas go there on their holiday ( day off, they get one a week, decided by their employer) and we contact them and invite them to come back to the church with us... its 2 stops on the MTR and it takes altogether about 10 minutes. Alot of them dont want to listen... But! there are people there, that are SO prepared, literally waiting to find this gospel... Ill give an example. Not last saturday but the one before... there was exchanges between international and Hong Kong island zone to give some of the international missionaries a chance to go back to chinese work for a day. That day this Island 1 companionship "pulled back" (brought back to the church) a philipina named Jim (Chim). She didnt really want to come, but had a feeling she needed to follow the missionaries. She came got into the church, heard the Restoration lesson, and was introduced to the Book of Mormon. She loved the Book of Mormon right away and started to read it... she stayed for church that day ( oh... something i forgot to mention... because the philipinas only get one holiday a week and it is set by their employer, we have church everyday of the week to give the philipinas a chance to come to church on their holiday. The only place in the world that does this. ill talk more about it later)... turns out, that day was not her holiday, and sunday is, she just happened to have that saturday off because her employer was out of town. So, after being buried in the book of mormon for a whole day, she decided to come back on her real holiday on sunday!... she loved it,... again! she went back to work for the week, but any minute she had, she said "my heart would start to pound and i had to pick up the book"... then as she read, she said " i feel so happy, like my heart is getting bigger " and she said it kind of scared her and she wondered if she was normal... but she loved the book. she sent a text in the middle of the week that said "I KNOW THE BOOK OF MORMON IS TRUE. IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST. AMAEN."... So Awesome!!! She has already almost finished the Book of Mormon... she came to church again this saturday because her employer had to leave town for a day again... then came back yesterday on her holiday... i talked to her each of these days... the first two by chance...now i am here and i got to talk to her and teach her saturday and sunday... after church on sunday... she agreed, and we scheduled a baptism interview right then... and her Baptismal goal is on the 3rd of next month... she wants to sooner... but we are giving a little bit of time... even though if she really wants she can be baptized next week!... so she went in and out of her interview in about 20 minutes and passed. Elder Fogt did the interview and he walked out with the most stunned look on his face... It is so amazing to see... SO Fast! she would give Anything for the Gospel at this point... 1 week ago she had a modesty problem... she went out and bought a entirely new wardrobe just to be able to follow the commandment. So amazing. Now to me, a miracle is one thing... i dont even know what to say about this! All the Philipinas are such a huge example of faith to me! Alot of their working, and family conditions are a horror story... then... the ONE Day they have off everyweek... they wake up early come out and Help missionaries contact at the worldwide, go to church, have activities, and Make dinner for the ward and the missionaries that are in charge of that day... SO awesome. On their One Day off. Also this week, while i was contacting on Friday we "pulled back" a lady named Beth... who prayed That Morning that God would send direction into her life. Even though a few days earlier she vowed to never go to a church again because her husband in the philipines, a Christian, left her( cheated on her) for another woman a long time ago, and has had a kid, she just found out a week or two ago and has been Super Depressed... and she is left here working to support her daughter that she cant afford to go and see because she needs all the money she can get to support her daughter to go to school. When i started talking to her and she didnt want to come back... but!... she had a prompting she needed to follow us. so she did, with another member philipina,me and elder Flynn. and after we shared with her... she was in tears, and had a sincere desire to come to church, saying " i know this is where i need to be" she kept asking when she could come to the church, she wanted to be there because she felt so at peace. She said she is coming any time she can, and next week she will bring her 2 friends with her. Saturday we met a lady named Naty who met missionaries a year ago and she recieved a book of mormon. Then her employer dropped her and she lost her phone, she lost contact with the missionaries, I stopped her on the street and she was on her way to church... I talked to her for a minute... and she wasnt very interested, until i brought up the Book of Mormon,... she realized i was from the church that gave her the book of mormon and said " ive read that Book every day since i met missionaries a year ago (sister missionaries)... i feel so happy when i read, it helps me solve so many problems, i know its true!... " ... I havent been here for very long... i wouldnt imagine everyday is like this... but, so far, Every day has Multiple miracles like this! Im Constantly Amazing by the faith and devotion of members, the miracles that the gospel brings to peoples lifes... it is SO amazing.

Anyway... im running out of time... I know this Gospel is true, it is perfect, and can help Everyone.

Hello Everyone!!!


How are you? What’s new? Do you still remember me? ha. This week has been pretty slow over here, a lot like last week actually! But! have things I can actually talk about this week!!! First! Pauline, Linda, and Franky are all doing well. Especially Franky who is getting ready to introduce her friend to us! Pauline is Awesome!!! a member that just moved to Hong Kong was looking for a house... and Pauline found it the perfect opportunity to serve someone, because she is a real estate agent!, and although she isn’t able to be paid for her work to help (because she is looking for a good place for a good price and none of that type of house is in the area she covers... ) She has found a house that is perfect for the new family so awesome! I’m so happy, watching someone I had the special opportunity to serve, go and serve someone else especially with something as big as finding a place to live in Hong Kong!


So the past 6 or so weeks we have really been working hard to find Male people to teach... it’s so hard...I don’t know why but, it just seems like all they ever say is "I don’t need this"... or completely ignore our existence. Anyway we have been able to talk to a lot of people recently and on Monday we met with a kid named a-Fai. He was so cool! And was totally interested in everything we were saying!!! Then, last night we got a call. He talk to his Pastor, and his pastor told him we tricked him and now he needs to repent... so he called us and says he never wants to speak to us again and to get rid of his number... he never wants to talk to us again. Lame! I don’t understand why people think we don’t believe in Jesus Christ!? or the Bible? Maybe if they would care enough to ask, they would know that isn’t true! and then, don’t know why a-fai believed him because when we say him all we did was talk about Christ and read scriptures from the bible... and talked about Joseph Smith. Anyway, that was frustrating. So now we are back to only 3 people to teach. The Chan family, (Mom and Dennis) and A-wahn.I don’t think I’ve talked much about a-wahn... She is the one female investigator that we didn’t give to the sisters because we were told to keep teaching her, because she has been with us for so long.


That’s about all as far as people go... So, yesterday I had the chance to go to Aberdeen to go finding... That was quite a special experience... Aberdeen is known for being a pretty rough area, and especially recently, in the coming transfer 3 areas need to be closed... and everyone knows Aberdeen will be one of them... but! in an attempt to save the area the whole zone went finding there yesterday... 18 missionaries... when we all came back... all together we had 6 peoples numbers... that is 18 missionaries going contacting for 3 hours...I had the chance to go out with an awesome missionary named Elder Wing.I actually graduated with him! He went to snow canyon his senior year and we got to meet again on our missions! Anyway, we went out...I was talking to 2 kids, when the attack started... There were Police men, Guards of buildings, and normal people all yelling at me and telling me to leave...I was finished the contact and got one of the two kids phone number when I was about to give them my phone number a guy walks up... takes my flyer and yells in my face to leave...I stayed there for a second... looked at him. Looked around at all the people yelling at me so I stopped... then they left and I saw them walking toward Elder Wing! he had started talking to someone else who walked by... and I went over to try to rescue but they got there faster than me and told the kid to go home and Elder Wing to leave... we started walking away and a lady with her son pointed at us and told her son (maybe 5 years old) never to talk to us, and then she flipped us off. we walked up the road a little bit and I got a phone call... while I was on the phone, Tons of people walked by and said some pretty mean/false things about us... So we left... far far away... back to the church actually. That... was Crazy!!!!


So! the work is going forward! but Very slowly... that was about the only chance I had to go out this week to so I’m a little discouraged... we can’t schedule anyone because everyone is testing... BUT ! I have seen some amazing miracles... my mission has never been harder than right now... but it’s possible I’ve never seen more blessings, miracles, or felt as much love from my heavenly father as I did this week...I spent a lot of this week in meetings with doctors and talking on the phone and in meetings... but... The ward is doing so much missionary work! we have a good 5 members who are willing to give us referrals, all of the new members in the ward are progressing SO much and are safe (as far as I know) from being antied anymore, and this week President Chan scheduled me for an interview just because he had an impression he needed to speak with me... ... Prayers are heard ... Prayers are heard and answered constantly by a loving Father in Heaven.


So everything is good. By this time next week!... transfers will have come too!!! so we'll have to see what’s new!

Elder Holland is my Hero

Family and Friends! :)

How are you? Have you eaten rice yet? I hardly ever heard this my whole mission, until this week where i heard it over a hundred times... but... people have been telling me this whole week that i look really tired... then they say " Are you eating Rice?" " If you dont even rice you cant even have energy to walk!" so i tell them " i eat rice about once a day... but most the time im eating noodles, so its just about the same right?" to which they respond " NO! You have to eat RICE! If you dont eat rice you wont get your energy back! eat more rice! " ... surprisingly... just about that exact convorsation happened at least 10 times this last week I love Hong Kong! So... Remember to eat your rice! its alot more important than you think!
This week was SO amazing! the biggest part is.... Elder Holland came to talk to our mission!!! It was SO awsome! The mission took a picture and then we all lined up to shake his hand. When it was my turn i shook his hand and he asked "Hello Elder, How are You?" ... at this point i could not contain how happy/in awe i was... so i stutteringly answered (We were told to tell him our name and where were from) " Im Elder Wright, From St. George" completely missing his question... or asking him the same like i wish i would have... then he said " oh... We got a couple from st.george here" then moved on I shook his wife's hand Elder Jensen ( the seventy) and his wife, and Ending at President Chan with his wife... Its so amazing! i just shook their hands... but at the sametime... ive not felt more love from anyone ever my whole life as I did with them! Except my Mom of course. Love you Mom! So then we went into the meeting room and heard Elder Watson, and Elder Jensen speak a little bit about what we are doing out here on our missions... and what we should be learning from them, how we should be changing, and what this time is supposed to be shaping us to become. Then Elder Holland spoke to us. I cant even begin to say all the amazing things he talked to us about. But, the first thing he did was walk off the stand and asked if it would be okay to speak down there... and as he walked back and forth... He told us how much he loved us. How much he respects us, and how much he wants us to love our missions. He told us how much he loved his mission and how it meant Everything to him. How not a day has gone by where he hasnt thought about his mission in some way, or thought of something he learned on his mission. Then he told us that if we were to go home and turn our backs on what we have done, forget about the people we taught, and throw away what weve learned... He would "Hunt" us... " I will Find you! I will Hunt You! I make clint eastwood look like a boyscout!!!"... then he said " I say that because my mission was EVERYTHING to me... it influenced the rest of my life... it means Everything to me... and i say this because I only want the same for You"... He was So... powerful. I am 100% certian that everyone there Felt his emotion. Then, He taught us about what he hopes our expectations are, and what They expect from us. "God is hastening his work... and We Must Follow" " we can do more. We must do more" ... I cant say all that was said in the meeting... there is no time... but... That 2 hour space of time. Changed my life. He told us that what we do after is what matters. When we go home... are we going to use what we learned? " This cant be and 18 month mission or a 24 month mission... This is Expected to influence your whole life... this is eternal... god expects the same from us as we hope for the people we teach... to do a little more, push a little harder, change for the better, and not for just 18 or 24 months... forever" That night... i wrote for a whole hour in my journal ( even a little longer) and filled at least 4 pages... So amazing. Then! after the meeting me and Elder Yeung had to rush off for a lesson... so we ran downstairs and he used the restroom... i was waiting outside in the lobby... when all the seventies and Elder Holland came down! they stayed in the lobby for a minute and then he had to walk down the hall i was standing by to get to their car. I was so... i cant even describe my emotion... i remember thinking. woah its Elder Holland... i wonder if he will wave when he comes by? i wonder if he will say anything to me! I was so excited just to be in the same room as him. ha... He has no idea... Then he starts walking to the hallway... i stand off to the side and smile and wave as he is walking up... Then... HE STOPPED! (WOAH! my mind... and heart was racing... ) then he shook my hand and asked me " Hello Elder, How are you?" i said " im Great! How are you?" then he says" Good. What is your name?" I answered " Im Elder Wright" (this whole time he is looking me straight in the eye... i think... in the face... one of the two) Then He responds " Elder Wright, Ya look good... You have a nice Smile,... and Curly Hair... " then he walked away! ... so funny! as he walks away leaving me completely shocked... i stumble out a ... "thanks!" with a Huge smile... ... so fun. So... yeah... That was one of the coolest things that has happened to me my whole life... hahah! Elder Holland is my Hero! one of them
So... now breifly in news this week... 3 weeks until transfers and i cant help but to anticipate its coming. I love Chai Wan and kind of hope i can stay... but there must be a change. Anyway! Sisters moved into our district and we have turned over all of our female investegators... so we now have Dennis and Kevin... who we just met! and we have a new kid Jacky scheduled on saturday! should be super cool! Linda is going to be Baptized on Sunday! Woo hoo! Pauline is doing awsome... Loved Elder Hollands talk to the members last night... OH! Elder Bednar came too! but sadly we didnt get to see him... He was in Kowloon speaking to all the young single adults and youth. we didnt have anyone to go with... so we couldnt go. oh well. Franky is also doing Awsome! she reads scriptures way more than she used to (daily... alot!) and loves coming to church! Awsome!... Dennis and the Chan Family will All come to church on sunday and see their relatives who will now come to the wan chai chapel from now until next year! so... thats cool too!

Let's be Pretty Darned Good all of the Time!

... Levi Wright Is Called to serve in Hong Kong!!!! You could say I am INTENSELY EXCITED!!!! awesome!!!!
SO! I can’t even think what to say! I’m just completely off the ground right now... I can’t even think!
Ok. So this week was Awesome! Pauline was confirmed and ive never seen her look so happy. Frankie was Baptized!
She had such a special experience she has given 2 referrals already! Pretty amazing!
Yesterday we went over to visit the Chan Family and it was so special. Basically the whole family is really making some changes to try to be able to come to church, especially because now is the perfect time! Because their relatives’ chapel in West point (the biggest city part of the island... which is a giant city...) is being redone. So they will meet at the Wan Chai Chapel for the next 6 months. So they made a goal to really learn about this church and join the church while their relatives are still there. They are so great; Sister Chan totally loves us, and trusts us so much, yesterday she asked if we could help and take them into central for their friend’s birthday party. So we did... and I hope I didn’t brake any mission rules... but as we were all walking out to the bus, Hailey ( 5 years old) Was scared and wanted to hold my hand as we walked across the streets... it was so cute... to me :)... anyway, hope I didn’t do anything wrong! SO. Today was temple day. It’s pretty amazing no matter how many times we go to the temple, how much I have never realized or never thought about before, especially how much I feel like I learn in the temple. Every single. Time!!! Pretty amazing!
So in a meeting we had a while back, My zone leader Elder Kershisnik (hope I spelled that right) was talking about a pattern in our mission... how it seems like a wave... we have lots of investigators... then they all get baptized... then we have no investigators... then we find for a long time, find lots of people... then have a lot of people to teach... then... etc...
So... Quote of the week... he asks us what we can to do to have a steady line of improvement and be
"Instead of being good sometimes and bad sometimes... Be pretty darn good all the time"
ha... I thought it was funny. But True. Then i thought about it. I came up with some ideas. Then later I thought about how to be
Pretty darn good all the time in any aspect or in developing any attribute. It’s pretty cool how we can take just about any attribute we want to become and listen to what modern prophets and apostles have to say about it. So I read a lot, and it was a really special experience for me as I decided I want to become more Patient. I read a number of talks and scriptures, it was really awesome. I know that if we really try to follow today’s prophets and apostles teachings... we can become "pretty darn good ALL the time. " instead of having some kind of a cycle... :) I thought it was cool... I wish I could share my experiences better.
Oh well! :)

Transfers and Swimming Lessons...

Hello Family and Friends!!! :)

How are you!?!? Have you eaten rice yet? What’s the news in America? Anything special?
Pauline is getting baptized on Sunday!!! :) I’m so happy for her! She actually invited her husband, two sons, and daughter all to come to the Baptism. She wants us to teach them and is trying to get them all to come to a talent show that the ward is having on the 10th.
Frankie called me the other day and told me that she wants to be baptized. ( get ready for this... Epic Miracle!) We have been teaching her for quite a while, and all through this time she has received SO much anti. So maah faahn... anyway. about 3 weeks ago she told us that she couldn’t be baptized because she is afraid of water, and we thought that she was just making an excuse because of more anti. Turns out, when she called me she told me that she had to cancel our appointment on Friday and move it to Saturday, so I said we would schedule her baptism interview then. Ii asked (out of curiosity) “Why can’t you come on Friday”? and she told me " Because I have swimming lessons, I’ve been taking them for about three weeks"...Ii said" but you’re afraid of water!?" Then she said “I’m taking them so I won’t be afraid to be baptized"...!!!!
...I didn’t really know what to say... actually I still don’t. But isn’t that Amazing! :) I’m SO happy!
All the other people we teach are doing well. but were busy on vacation all week because, I guess they get a big Easter Break over here...I have no idea why... not a single person here celebrates it...I think they do something special at all the churches... but it’s just one day... and I didn’t hear anyone talking about it or anything. I was really confused all week when everywhere was closed... Actually... I’ve asked around and no one is really sure why the holiday is, but just know that it is. Pretty interesting.
Transfers were today! Elder Yeung and I will stay here in Chai Wan together for this one, maybe even next one,... who knows... BUT! This marks quite an event! It will officially be the longest amount of time I’ve stayed in one area! I’m happy to stay because I love the ward and I Love all the people we teach. It’s so fun, and everyone here is really into helping us with missionary work.

So many miracles every single day!

How is everyone!? SO great I hope!!! Today marks ONE YEAR since I left on the most amazing journey of my life :) Wow that happened fast...I guess true what they say... time flies when you’re e having fun!!! SO FUN! I’ve loved it all! and I’m more than positive this next year will be even better, because it just gets better every single day!!!
This week was pretty interesting. Elder Davis and I have been doing a lot. Last week we were a bit disappointed because we didn’t feel like we got so much done...because SO many people canceled on us... But it turned out good, and this week is looking at least a little better... were already SO busy tomorrow and Saturday! We are totally booked if everything works out. Recently we’ve been focused on trying to find new people to teach. It’s... quite an adventure: / HA I love it! There are so many interesting people in Hong Kong. We’ve seen this guy named David a couple of times now... we met him one day contacting in a park while he was playing with his model boats that he turns into remote control boats... it’s pretty cool... We saw him yesterday and I think we realized... he is WAY obsessed with model boats. it’s SO funny. He is retired and his whole life is just about buying and building new model boats. He is a really nice and fun guy... but after yesterday ( when we met him he just brought TONS of books about model boats to show us, plans, blueprints, instructions, magazines, Everything!) ... we probably won’t see him much anymore... every time we try to share a message with him, we just find out how much more unwilling and atheist he is... so... it’s sad because he is normal cool and nice... but we will probably have to move on.
In other news, When I first came here I contacted a kid named Eden,... He is Awesome! Last Sunday he came to church and we talked and taught him, then afterward when he said his prayer... it was the most touching sincere prayer I’m pretty sure I’ve ever heard... the spirit really was there! He said how thankful he was for all the feelings of comfort he had felt that day about 5 or 6 times... it was a rather long prayer. There is defiantly something good about this kid. So I’ve been talking to him on the phone all this week. He is so awesome, he asks so many cool questions... he is looking for truth and you talk to him, you can totally tell. it’s SO great. He is really busy but he told me that he prays every night, and has read the introduction and opening part of the Book of Mormon and he loves it! I’m so excited for him. We should get the chance to see him on Saturday and Sunday from what he is saying. WOOHOO!
Ok. Now for my Favorite part!!! The Chan Family! and Dennis! They are SO great! I really do love them! I can’t remember how much I’ve explained so I will go over a little bit of their situation again. Dennis's cousin Rocky has just left on a mission, His whole family are really strong members. Rocky's Mom is Brother Chans Sister. So he knows the Church because he took the discussions with his sisters. So! last Friday! An AMAZING thing happened! Me and Elder Davis were studying when,... Sister Wu ( Rocky’s mom/ Brother Chan's Sister) calls! I answered and she wanted to talk about what I should share on Sunday when we see them! She told me that she just talked to their family last night after they received an E-mail from rocky sharing his testimony with them... She talked to them for a while and she thinks that they have changed a lot. Before the mom didn’t have much interest to try, but now she told sister Wu that she thinks it is good, she wants Dennis to join the Church, and she also wants to try. The Dad not to long ago went through some hard times and has picked up smoking and Drinking, but she says she knows he knows the gospel is true, but he is afraid to join because he doesn’t think he can keep commandments. But she says he will change and soon. So, she told us that when we see them, we should give them all the big challenges now like: Ask the mom to change her work schedule (nearly Impossible for Hong Kong people ) so she won’t have to work on Sunday, and to commit the dad not to drink or smoke anymore. Then she told me a story. Rocky left on his mission about 3 weeks ago... Right before he left he said a prayer with his family... and how in his prayer he prayed that his cousin Dennis and their family could have another chance to hear the gospel. (Now my side really quick) The Monday after he left... I was rummaging through a former book... Saw a record that was almost blank sounded very normal, was about 4 years old, and was just a 8 year old kid at the time (now 12) ... there are TONS of records, seriously books and books and books full... but for some reason I felt like I should just give the number a try... so I did... and now Sister Wu thinks that this could be the time for them and is the answer to Rocky & their Prayers... and most of all... She told me that she knows they are ready to change... :) maybe it’s only amazing to Me, Elder Davis, and Sister Wu... But... I can’t even describe how great of a miracle this has meant for so many people. I can’t even describe! SO... SO cool! I LOVE MY MISSION! I see SO many Miracles Everyday!!! On Monday we were out finding, and we stopped and talked to a kid... We asked him if he had ever seen missionaries before and he said Yes, about 5 years ago ( ! ) ... and then he told us his name... and that he met him on the street once... it’s so amazing that people really do remember us... maybe two or three minutes meeting on the street... and even 5 years later someone remembers everything he said what church he was from and the missionaries Name!!!! We are Not that easily forgotten... :) pretty amazing. Wow! This week has been really powerful... :) I honestly feel like I can’t express myself... It makes all the other crazy things so worth it... a Couple days ago we were out contacting and I started talking to these two kids... then they started to look scared and kept looking up... so I look up to see a WHOLE BRIGE full of people looking down and laughing, swearing, pointing and making fun of me and criticizing our church... It would be an understatement to say that I was a little shocked that people would take the time to stop where they were going to look down off a bridge and laugh at a white kid talking to some students... Sometimes it’s discouraging, when everywhere you go you’re laughed at and criticized and endless coursings toward us and our church... but the best part is... I see a miracle everyday that reminds me who is in charge... and the promises we’ve been given... its hard not to think of the scripture... "Blessed are all they who are persecuted for my name's sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven" ..." for ye shall have great joy and be exceedingly glad for great shall be your reward in heaven; for so persecuted they the prophets who were before you." (3 Nephi 12 )
Everyone stay strong. :) Thank you for always being my example to stay strong. And teaching me about our Savior who loves and watches out for every one of us. :) Keep the Fire! The Gospel is true! :)
