SO! this extended week was quite interesting! alot happened... but as far as missionary work goes... almost nothing happened! we had 2 lessons on monday before the new year holiday started... and then... it was hopless from there... there was little to noone on the streets to contact. and Everyone was gone, or busy... and angry.... BUT! our wise and fearless leader president Chan always knows these kind of things! because he is a Native!!!! So, he expertly planned lots of awsome activities and meetings to keep us busy! like zone meeting! which is just a really long meeting where you recieve so many ideas and revelation that your brain cant hold them all and they all dissapear anyway! :( lame but its really how it works, i really hope i will get better at remembering... but for now at least i am pretty good at taking notes! I feel confiedent when i say everyone learned alot about being a better missionary and how to improve their teaching.
The Biggest and Best story of the week is... we had a mission activity!!!! the whole mission ( 91 missionaries) got together and went to Big Buddah! it was SO cool! and i took LOTS of pictures dont worry! i have been promised by my mother that they will end up on my Blog! oooooh! i never thought i would have my very own blog! i feel so special! :) Anyway! so we went and i got to spend time with my MTC district brothers the whole day... well almost... until everyone split and me and a fairly small group went to hike the highest peak in hong kong!!!!... i vow... that i will never again be caught as out of shape as a was that day... :)... Anyway... we hiked up and after dragging myself up a mountain of 2090 big stone stairs... (not including the little hills) i sat at the top of a huge mountain and looked down at the little nearby cities... it was really really cool... i felt so accomplished. Today! my legs still feel like jello and my calfs still treaten to fall of my legs everytime i move... BUT! it was SO worth it! i took lots of pictures! and a couple little videos!
Last night was really cool every 6 weeks we have a special fireside called " My conversion story" where the missionaries who are going home invite a recent convert or a re-activated member to share their experience and testimony. Every time is a really cool experience... This time we had a special opportunity to hear Sister Chan ( The mission presidents wife) share her conversion story. She said her elementary school was also a christian school. So her reason of believing was that she didnt want to "lohk deih yuhk" ( or... fall to hell) so she would believe and follow. Everyone laughed, and realized its quite easy to understand with all the pastors and ministers here that someone would fear that. So, her teacher pulled her aside one day and told her... there are 2 churches you cannot have any affiliation with one is the mormons, the Church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints, and another church that she had forgotten... but that it was ok and she could join any other church... ( make sence?... not to me either!) so she made sure to listen. Then one day she was on the street and by chance started talking to two people... she had talked to them for a while and had been thinking wow these people are really nice! they are so special, not like other people. Then after talking to them for a few minutes... she realized... they were members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints!!!! but... she didnt feel like anything was wrong and accepted visits from the missionaries. she was taught and learned the truth for herself and wanted to be baptized no matter how much anyone else criticized her... and asked her dad about being baptized. he wouldnt let her because they belong to a different church!... and after alot of discussion... it eventually led to her not being baptized and the missionaries stopped meeting with her... but she still came to church and wanted to be baptized... after about one year the missionaries started teaching her again... and they gave her a form to be signed by her parents to be baptized... when she brought it back to the missionaries... her dad had actually signed!!! but it was for HIS baptism, so they sent her back and she gave a new form to her dad... he said he would only sign it if she would keep the church people away from him... SO! she was baptized! haha its was such a funny story i dont do it justice... one of the coolest parts is... rumor says... she has kept the form with her dads signiture... waiting for the day that he will accept... :) her faith is so strong... she is probably the biggest example of enduring faith that ive met on my mission... it was such a touching story... :)
This gospel is so special. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is true! i know it. im so happy that i have had it in my life to guide and direct me and my family through every challenge. Ive been blessed more than i realize, and i know my heavenly father has a plan for me to recieve blessings of hapiness throughout my life, and through each of our lifes. :)
Thank all of you for you example, everything you have done for me, and everything you have taught me throughout my life :) i love you all so very much :)
